3D Video Mapping consists of the projection of images in 3 dimensions onto large and even irregular surfaces, works of Art, facades of buildings or monuments, cars, people, animated and non-animated objects. It is an advanced form of technological spectacularization for the promotion of a brand, place or idea.
In the case of the Aspromonte National Park, the aim was to showcase the cultural message with a young and original language, promoting the settings and constituent features of the protected Park environment, combining “Nature with Culture.”
This was made possible by the design and projection of three-dimensional Video Mapping inside the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria, the MArRC on the occasion of EHD – European Heritage Days 2017, in the framework of a setting specially designed for the event.
Totally reconstructed in 3D using CAD programs and CGI technologies, part of the facade of the Piazza named after Paolo Orsi came alive in a multimedia show.
The Museum’s architecture and Riace Bronze “B” came to life, interacting with the natural beauty of the Aspromonte National Park.
